Tired of wasting time re-entering destinations on Google Maps? The "pin" feature allows you to save frequently used routes for quick access on your Android or iOS device.

How to Save a Route on Google Maps

Here's how to save a route

  1. Enter your destination: Open the Google Maps app and enter your desired destination in the search bar.
  2. Choose your route: Select your preferred mode of transportation (driving or cycling) and choose the route you want to save.
  3. Pin it! Tap the "Pin" button at the bottom of the screen. Your saved route will be accessible in the "Go" tab.

Bonus Tip: You can also add a saved route to your phone's home screen for even faster access.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Google Maps currently doesn't support pinning routes for public transport or walking directions.
  • To access saved routes offline, download the offline maps covering your pinned destinations.

For custom routes or route tracking

While Google Maps doesn't support saving custom routes on mobile, you can create them using Google My Maps on your computer.

For route tracking, Google Maps uses your Location History (if enabled) to show your past travels in the "Your Timeline" section.
