How To Free Up Space On itel Phone

Delete Unused Apps

If you are trying to download an app on Google Play Store, and you get the insufficient storage notification, one of the prompts you will receive is to delete apps. And this is one of the ways to free up space on your itel phone

Go through your itel phone and check the applications that you do not use or don’t use often. Delete them to free space in your device. If you have multiple browsers, try deleting all and leaving only one for surfing purposes. Social media apps take up so much space with their user data and cache. You can delete and access them via the web instead.

Remove Photos, Videos, Or Documents You Do Not Need Anymore

Get rid of videos, photos and documents that are no longer useful to free up space on your itel mobile. Perhaps you took screenshots to show a friend something exciting or funny. Delete those after you have shown them. You might have saved memes for internet jokes. After posting them online, delete them.

Also, get rid of duplicate files. If you backed up photos to google photos, you could free up space by going to setting>internal storage > photos &videos > images. You can pick out the images that are already backed up and delete them.

Alternatively, go to google photos and tap on the three lines on the top left corner of your screen. Choose “free up space” to clear some photos.

Use Phone Master

All modern android phones now have the app, phone master. It might not be a trendy tool, but it is quite useful in managing applications and phone storage. The phone master is like an upgraded version of the file manager.

You can uninstall apps, clean applications, move the location of files, freeze apps that are not commonly used, manage phone data consumption, lock apps, and even delete junk files. To delete junk files, launch the app and tap on junk files. The app will scan for junk files in your itel device so you can delete them all and free up space in your phone.

Backup Files Online And Remove The Files From The Internal Storage

Your google account comes with lots of things, and one of them is storage space. The google drive has 15 GB of space where you can store almost anything. And the 15 GB space is expandable in case you fill-up the free space. You will have to pay for the extra space, though.

So, if you have memory issues on your phone, you can backup files to google photos or google drive.

You can as well back up your files on google drive. To upload your files to drive,  go to file manager and select the files you want to send to google drive. Choose the share option. The phone will show you a series of places where you can send the files to. Choose drive.

You will receive a prompt to name the file. Do so and then tap on save. The file will be uploaded to drive. Delete the files from phone memory.

To back up photos in google photos, launch the app. Automatically it will show you all the pictures on your phone. Select the ones you want to back up. Click on the three dots on the top right corner of your screen. Choose backup, and the file backs up immediately. You can now remove the picture from the internal storage.

Clear Apps Cache And Data

App cache and data are two things that take a lot of space in phones. Every app has a cache that stores data which helps the phone retrieve information faster. You can clear those.

To clear apps cache and date, go to settings, then storage. Select internal storage and then tap on applications. Here, you will find a list of all the applications on the phone.

You will have two options: to clear user data and to clear the cache. First of all clear cache and see if that solves your storage problems. If it does not, you can proceed to remove app data. Just note that clearing data would mean that you have to log in to your apps as though you installed them for the first time.

Insert A Micro SD Card And Move Apps Or Files To SD Card

Your itel phone has expandable storage capacity. You can add an SD card (popularly known as a memory card) that can give you more storage space for your apps, photos, and videos. Transfer some of your files and apps to the SD card as this will free up space on your internal storage.

To do this, go to file manager and mark a file or files. You will receive prompts asking if you want to share, copy, or cut the file. Select cut, then go back, select SD card, then tap paste. Your file will move from the phone storage to the SD card.

You can also set your default storage to be the SD card so that new files will be saved there instead, relieving your phone storage.

Clean Up Downloads

If you go to the download section of your browsers and phone, you will see a lot of things there that you won’t recognize or remember because they are no longer useful to you. To free up space on your itel phone, you can delete some of those unneeded download items.

When you have combined all of the suggestions above, your itel phone storage will gain more space.
