WHY DOES MY PHONE GET HOT

Overuse of the phone: Even though most brands design their devices keeping in mind the need of the current users. Still, if you remain stuck to your device for hours, playing heavy games or watching videos, any phone can start overheating. A mobile phone is, after all, an item of technology and so it is bound to get overheated after a point of time.

Too Many Processing: Multi-processing is another key reason phone overheating is so prevalent. You’re downloading a game, and at the same time watching a video. Also, your network-related functions like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hotspot are ON, and background apps are running too. This multifunctioning could be a tad too much to handle for your device and may cause overheating.

Liquid insertion: Many a time, liquid insertion and moisture is the reason for your phone to heat up abruptly. Also, a few obsolete models may not have been designed to handle heavy volumes of call and data transfer.

HOW TO STOP PHONE FROM OVERHEATING

Close all Idle Applications: One of the easiest ways to stop your phone from overheating is to close all the apps lying open but idle. We often use an app and then log out of it but it stays open in the background. Many people are not even aware of this fact. By simply turning off all these apps, you can not only save your phone from overheating but you can also save your consumption of power.

Keep the Phone Away from Sunlight: This is more like common sense. In case your window is open and strong sunlight is streaming in, the best thing would be to keep your phone away from its direct rays. Many a time, direct contact with the hot sun rays leads to heating of the phone.

Ease the Pressure on Battery: The more the pressure on battery the more heated will the phone gets. So, look for ways to ease the pressure on your phone’s battery.

- As stated earlier, a quick fix way is to close all idle apps.

- Avoid using your phone while it’s charging.

- Another thing to fix a phone that overheated is to maintain an optimal or low brightness level. Many people simply pull the brightness bar up to the maximum without giving a thought for the phone’s battery. When not needed, lower the brightness level to the minimum possible level and your phone will stay relatively cool.

- Keep your charging between 40-80%. Avoid putting your phone on charging overnight.

Remove the Phone Case: Sometimes, your phone too needs to breathe. By removing its case, you can help the phone to cool down faster especially if the weather is torrid and stuffy.

Resort to Airplane Mode: Often, people use the phone for some basic purpose for which they do not need the entire device to be operational. For instance, a person creating a notepad article on phone late at night and not expecting any phone call may very well keep the phone’s battery at a stress-free level by turning the airplane mode on. It will permit the user to use the normal features of the phone and enable the phone to cool down a bit.

Avoid Long Sessions on Graphics Intensive Games

If you play graphic-rich games like PUBG and Fortnite for hours, chances are, your phone will experience heating issue sooner or later. It impacts battery life, and also cause overheating.

So it is recommended to avoid it, especially if you have a low RAM mobile.

Delete Unneeded Apps: This is another way to  fix an overheated phone. Storing so many apps results in creating unnecessary junk files and cached data that can add to its workload and cause overheating. So you better keep the applications that you need and delete the rest.

Keep Apps and system updated: The new updates often come with bug fixes, aiming to enhance the efficiency of that particular app and your phone. This means they are more likely to cause any trouble. So keep your apps and system updated to the latest version.

Try Factory Reset: If any application or software is the culprit, Factory Reset can fix it.

- Switch off the mobile by pressing the Power button

- Thereafter, hold down Volume Up + Power but for a couple of seconds

- Release the Power key once you see the brand logo appearing on the screen

- Release Volume Up after the Recovery Mode appears

- Now, Select Factory Reset/WipeData

Note: Since Factory reset will erase all your files and application permanently, don’t forget to take Data back before you embark on this step.
