Android experience is quite exciting until you start facing issues using your phone. One of the issues that have surfaced on some phones is the phone keeps turning off by itself. This can be a very frustrating situation, of course, you wouldn't be able to do anything with your phone at the time it turns off automatically.   1. Device internal self-reset.

Yes, the first thing that can make your phone keep turning off itself is internal self-reset. The system may occasionally turn off after a long period of usage to reload its memory and that is normal, as it makes no harm to the phone.

It is good to occasionally restart your device after using for a couple of days to reset the system and clear app caches, whcih also makes your device run smoothly as well.

  1. The battery is faulty.

As we all know that the battery is one of the most crucial parts of the phone, the first thing to check if your phone android phone shuts off randomly is the battery. In a situation where the battery has insufficient current, it can trigger the device to turn off frequently.

One of the remedies to that is charging up your phone because it might be that your battery is low. Just grab the USB cable and charging brick, plug in the brick to a socket and leave the device to charge up for few hours and check if it's now working well.

If your phone is still not working well, that means you have a bigger problem in your palms. Your battery is probably faulty and you need to take it to a repair center for check and replacement. Do not try to disassemble inbuilt battery by yourself as it may lead to the destruction of the whole device

Your phone's CPU is capable of running a numerous number of apps in the background. However, long term usage of high current by an application will require CPU to reset and make your phone keep turning off automatically. If you noticed this after you recently installed a new app, you can try to uninstall the app and restart your device to check if it's the cause of the problem.

Alternatively, you can try by freezing some of your apps one-by-one and restart your phone to check if the problem goes away. You can freeze your apps by dragging them into the freezer app on your home screen on HiOS and XOS.

  1. Scheduled power on& off.

Scheduled power on & off is a handy feature on Android phones that assist you to automatically shut down your phone at night and turn it on in the morning based on your preferences. It doesn't only turn off your device by night and turn it on in the morning alone, it also works based on the time you assigned to it. For instance, it can turn off your phone at exactly 1 pm in the afternoon if that is what you set it to.

Another thing to check if your phone does turn off itself automatically is the scheduled power on & off settings. You might have turn it on unintentionally or it has been turned on by someone else and you need to disable it now to avoid a further automatic shutdown.

To do this, kindly open the Settings app and scroll down to System and tap Schedule power on & off to check if the setting is on. If it's on, that's the cause of the problem, and you need to turn it off to fix your phone turning off by itself.

  1. Faulty Power on & off button.

If you have tried any of the above fixes and your phone keeps turning off by itself, you need to move on to checking the hardware power button.

Normally, most android phones are designed to restart after 8-10 seconds of holding the power button. Therefore, a malfunctioning power button can trigger your device to restart frequently or turn off automatically.

To get rid of that, firstly remove the phone case for a while if you have one. Then you need to check if the case is holding down the power button. If  you find the power button is faulty, just take it to a mobile repair shop for check and get it fixed to get your device working again.

  1. Firmware bugs.

Apart from hardware malfunctions, software glitches and firmware bugs can also cause your device to get switched off automatically.  Your device manufacturer is always working to fix any firmware bugs that may cause your device to run slowly, drain the battery, and even cause instability to the system. That is why you're required to update your device regularly when they come around. It may help fix your device from turning off automatically after the installed update.

To check and install an update on your device, kindly open your phone's Settings app from your app launcher and navigate to System at the bottom of the page and then tap System update to check for updates. Follow the steps shown on your screen to download and install the system update if there's any pending update.

You may need to connect to your Wifi before downloading to save your data. Also make sure you only update your device from the System update app as described above, any attempt to install elsewhere may brick your phone and as way kick you out of warranty.

  1. Insufficient memory.

Heavy Game or insufficient memory to run operation can also cause your phone to switch off automatically. If you notice your phone shuts down itself after playing a heavy game or running some apps, try limiting the number of apps you run at a time to keep your phone running smoothly. You can also clear recent apps to release the memory and also let the phone rest after hours of subsequent usage.

  1. Hardware or liquid logged issue.

If all of the above-suggested solutions are not working for you that means the problems cannot be handled by you.
