What Are the Causes of White Lines on TECNO Screen?

There is a handful of reasons why your TECNO phone is showing white lines on the screen. Let us look at some of them.

1. Unfinished updates

Sometimes unfinished updates can cause your phone to develop white lines on the screen. If your TECNO phone has system updates and then when you launch them, make sure the updates are entirely installed before switching off your device. If you cut the process short, you may just get yourself a straight ticket to the white line on-screen town.

And it’s not just the white lines; other problems could arise. It would be best if you stick to this rule even when you are installing new applications. Make sure it is completely installed before switching off your phone. Before you go ahead with any installation or update, make sure you have a full battery or plug your phone at least.

2. Damage to the phone's hardware

White lines indicate that something is wrong with the phone, and damage is not out of that option. The damage could happen when water entered the phone or because your phone fell. These two factors can cause white lines to develop.

One of the worst things to happen to a phone user is that water enters the phone. There is no telling the extent of damage water will do. It can cause a short circuit in your motherboard and a lot of other things.  So, if you have a white screen, it is likely that water entered your phone, or your device fell or took a severe hit.

How to Fix White Lines on TECNO Screen

1. Check device in safe mode

The applications that you can trust are factory-fitted. They are trusted and won’t pose any challenge to the functionality of your phone. But applications downloaded from the web have every tendency of being corrupted. And this corruption is not safe for your TECNO device.

Some of these unsafe applications are the reason why your phone malfunctions. They can be the reason why your TECNO phone is showing white lines on the screen.

To rule this possibility out, you have to boot your phone into safe mode and see if it can work normally. If the phone comes on normally without the white lines showing in safe mode, then you know that it is due to 3rd party application.

All you need to do is reboot your device into normal mode and delete the third-party apps therein. Follow the steps listed below to boot your TECNO phone into safe mode.

  1. Long press the power key as if you are about to switch your TECNO phone off.
  2. Restart the TECNO phone
  3. Press both the Volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously while the phone is booting
  4. The TECNO phone will enter safe mode after booting

2. Try restarting the phone

Rebooting or restarting your phone can be quite instrumental when you are having phone issues. You can call the restart a ‘soft’ reset. When you restart your phone, it takes some time to adjust and fix bugs that may be worrying your phone.

To restart your phone, press and hold your power button for at least thirty seconds. The TECNO phone will bring up an interface that will ask you if you want to power off your phone or reboot it. Choose reboot/restart, and the phone does just that. If the white lines are still showing after the restart, then you have to check another option.

3. Try cycling your TECNO battery

You can also combat the white lines on your TECNO phone by cycling the battery of your TECNO phone. What does a cycling phone battery mean? Charging the phone till it is full and then letting it drain till it goes off. Charge it till it is full again and see if the white lines disappear.
